We wanted to serve some food in our pretend restaurant! Let’s start by making sure the plates we will be using are all clean!

“It’s so shiny!”

Next we have to listen carefully to the order to be sure we give out the right food.

“I’m so focused!”

“I have to choose the correct one, so I’ll look closely!”

Once we know what to get, we have to make sure that it’s what the customer wants!

“I found the bacon you wanted!”

“Did you ask for this one?”

After we find the food we have to put it on our plate and carry it over to our customer!

“Here you are!”

“I have to be careful with the food!”

“I’m making sure it doesn’t fall!”

“I’m coming with your order!”

“I don’t want to drop any!”

We even like to pretend we have a restaurant with our friends during playtime! We have lots of food to show everyone”

“We have lots of vegetables on our plates! It’s so healthy!”

“We have drinks and snacks prepared!”

We love to practice saying the names of food as we play, it’s so much fun! We want to keep working hard learning more about what we like to eat!

こんにちは、Kindy 1(年少クラス)です(^^)/

今週はweather(天気)の学習でsnow(雪)を作りました！

Baking soda(重曹)とconditioner(コンディショナー)でとっても簡単に雪が作れるんですよ❄️

みんなスモックを着て準備万端！

Nina先生の方を向いてお話をしっかり聞けてるね^ ^

それではみんなでやってみようー！

材料をまぜまぜしていきます。

“It smells good!”(いい匂いがするね!)

雪ができたところで、

“Let’s make a snowman!”⛄️(雪だるまつくろ！)

“Look at this!”(みてみて！)

“I did it!”(できたー！)

みんないろんな雪だるまを作って見せてくれました☆

5月に雪で遊べるなんて面白いね(*^^*)

とっても簡単なのでお家遊びにもおすすめです☆

今後も面白いアクティビティを用意していくのでみんな楽しみにしていてね♪

We started learning how to tell the time. Let’s check what time it is now.

Reading the top of the hour and half past was no trouble for us so let’s try to learn other times as well. Quarter past and quarter till are easy too.

On to the harder times. We practiced reading the clock at 5 minute intervals before playing a game racing to read the time.

It was really hard but we had a lot of fun competing against each other. We all wanted to win and tried to read the clock as fast as possible.

Once we had reading the clock down pretty well we moved on to setting the clock on our own. We make it look easy but drawing the hands on the clock is harder than it looks.

Setting the clock was a little harder and we will continue to practice as the year goes along but we managed to set all the times.

The class really got into it and even tried to help each other out when they were writing. It’s great to see everyone working together to help out as a team.

In the end we had so much fun learning about time and now we can always tell what time it is.

こんにちは、Small Kids(1歳児クラス)です！

今日はレッスン中の子供たちがアルファベットを学んでいる様子をシェアします♪

現在はA〜Hのアルファベットを学習中です！

まずはフラッシュカードでToni先生の発音に合わせて、ジェスチャーをしながらアルファベットを学びます。

みんなが特に大好きなのはGから始まる単語”goat”(ヤギ)のジェスチャーです！
両手でグーを作ってアゴの下に乗せてみんなでヤギの鳴き声を真似します♡
“Baa baa baa〜” (メェーメェーメェー)

そのあとはゲームです！

Toni先生が

”Who wants to play game?”(ゲームをしたい子は誰かな？)

と聞いたら

”I do!”(はーい！)と手を挙げて返事をします！


Toni先生のゲームの説明をみんないつもこんな真剣に聞いています♪笑

この日のゲームでは、Toni先生が言ったアルファベットをホワイトボードからとれるか挑戦してみます☆

“Can you get B?” (Bはどれかな？)

“Can you get F?” (Fはどれかな？)

“Yeah! you did!” (やったー!できたね!)

いつもフラッシュカードでやっているFから始まる単語”fire engine”(消防車)のジェスチャーも一緒にしてくれました⭐︎

ゲームの次はお歌です♪

みんなの大好きな”ABC Song”

いつも楽しそうに踊ってくれます⭐︎

歌に合わせて、体で頑張ってABCを作っています♡(笑)

このように毎日フラッシュカード、ゲーム、歌を使って楽しくアルファベットを学んでいます！

初めの頃と比べて少しづつアルファベットをマッチさせれるようになったり、ジェスチャーや踊りもたくさんする姿が見えてきました♡

これからもみんなで楽しみながらたくさん学んでいこうね♪

It’s only been a short time since the start of the school year, but Kindy 2 is already hard at work with Language Arts!

Everyone is excited to learn how to read, and our phonics workbooks are the first step towards achieving that goal! These workbooks aren’t easy, but Kindy 2 is always up to the challenge. So far we have complete 6 (!!!) workbooks! Only one more to go before we really kick it up a notch!

Of course, learning to read is more than just doing workbooks. Games play just as big a role, and they’re twice the fun! Everyone is always excited for a rousing game of Karuta.

Naturally, were also learning new games to keep things fresh. “Memory” has been the new game of choice recently, and it has been a fun way to help us learn our verb tenses! Just simply flip a card and try to find it’s counterpart!

Everyone has made great strides in our Language Arts development! Let’s keep up the good work! Wonderful job, Kindy 2!!!

今回は２歳児のみんなが頑張ってリーダーのお仕事をする様子をご紹介します ^^

Preschoolには days of the week leader (曜日のリーダー)、weather leader (天気のリーダー)、tidy up leader (お片付けのリーダー) と、３つのお仕事があります。順番に回ってくるお仕事をみんなとても楽しみにしているんですよ♪

〈Days of the week leader〉

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday… と７つの曜日をみんなの前に立って言い…

その日の曜日のカードを壁にぺったん☆

そしてその日の曜日を “It’s ~.” と発表し、good job!

〈Weather leader〉

“How’s the weather today?” (今日はどんな天気かな？) みんなの前でお決まりのフレーズを言って…

みんなでお空をチェック！

そして天気のカードを壁にぺったん♬

最後にその日の天気を発表して、ｗell done!

〈Tidy up leader〉

“It’s time to tidy up!” (お片付けの時間だよ！) と先生の声が聞こえたら、みんな一生懸命におもちゃをお片付けします。全てのおもちゃをかごに入れ終わったらリーダーの出番！

よいしょ！リーダーはおもちゃの箱を持ち上げロッカーへ運びます。

お友達の前で発表したり、行動したり集団生活ならではの活動をみんなが楽しんで行っていて先生達はとっても嬉しいです。次リーダーのお仕事をできる日を楽しみにしていてね(^^)/

こんにちは、Kindy 3 (年長クラス)です。

毎日雨が降ってすっきりしない空模様が続いていますね。でもそんな梅雨のお天気の下でも、子どもたちはみんな元気に活動しています！

今日はKindy 3の運動の時間をご覧ください(^O^)

お外で活動できたこの日のアクティビティは、“bridges”(トンネルくぐり)。お友だちがくぐりやすいよう、高ーいトンネルになろう♪

“Please crawl under your friends. Ready, set, GO!” (お友だちの下をくぐって行ってね。それでは、スタート！)

この姿勢のキープ、見た目以上にきつそう！体幹が鍛えられますね〜！

身体を鍛えて次にのぞむのは、お友だちの上を乗り越えていく、“leapfrog” (馬跳び)です。

チームに分かれて競争(^^)このアクティビティ、勝利のカギは実は丸まっている時。足の間から後ろをのぞいて、自分の番がいつやって来るのかを予測します。

“No one is behind me. It’s my turn!” (後ろに誰もいないぞ、、ぼく・わたしの番だ！)

素早く起き上がってジャンプジャーンプ！

さあ、こんな練習をした先に待っているのが、、そう、跳び箱です。

最近では踏切板を使い、ついにこれまで練習してきた中で1番高い、5段に挑戦しました☆

思いっきりジャンプして飛び越える感覚が気持ち良いのか、跳び箱はみんながだ〜い好きな種目です♡

明日はどんな競技に挑戦しようかな？次回のご紹介まで、、お楽しみに☆

Hello, everyone!

We finally got to see how big our lettuce grew! We were so excited!
It started off so small and we watched it get bigger and bigger!

Whenever we were outside, we checked to see if they had gotten big enough to eat!
On Monday, Momoko picked our lettuce, washed it and we watched as she put a yummy dressing on for us!

Surprisingly, it was delicious!

We all tried it, and we loved it!
In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we even asked for more!

“May I have more lettuce, please?”

We had so much! We asked many times for more, and we ate until we were full and could eat no more.

This was a very special lunch time for us! We hope we can try more yummy food together next time too!

We are so proud of you for trying more vegetables!

This is English Time 1! We want to show you what we do in class with our teachers Toni and Mika. Before we begin lessons, we talk about the weather. We said “Today is Cloudy” because the rain had stopped when we checked! We use gestures to help us remember our words.

Then we do conversation practice to warm up our voices. These are easy questions so far, like “what’s your name?”, or “how old are you?” Next, we practice our listening skills with action movements like “Let’s walk” or “Let’s run” around our mat. We are all getting used to these questions and phrases! 

In our lessons, we do our flashcards and then a game. You can see how close and comfortable we like to get for our ABC games. 

It’s fun to jump around for our ABC song, too! Our songs give a quick break from our hard focus. 

Our other lessons include our Numbers,

Colors, 

And the different Themes that change every few weeks. Right now, we’re doing the parts of our Body. 

English Time is where we develop and practice our listening, speaking, and writing skills. We also have free play time where we can simply enjoy each other and listen to more natural English than question and answers. If we’re able to finish class early, we even have time for a story! Toni is always asking our opinions on what we want to read, so we always get a vote to choose.

English Time 1 is getting comfortable with each other and our teachers. Every accomplishment is recognized by Toni and Mika.

今月のKindy2では、さまざまな動物について学習しています！フラッシュカードでたくさんの動物を確認したあとは動物たちをグループ分け！トラとライオンはなんの仲間かな．．？

Good job！ネコが正解だね！その他にもイヌ、クマなどの動物も確認。

動物の名前や特徴を一通り確認したら、動物当てゲームをしました。Who am I？（なんの動物でしょう？！？）

Preschool loves color activities so much! We want to show how much fun we have recognizing all the colors of the rainbow!

We can listen so nicely when our teachers give us a color to look for!

“Let’s find yellow!”

We are able to pay close attention, so please tell us what color to find!

“Look, I found white!”

We like to compare colors and see if we can match them together!

“We found the balloons that matched our cars!”

Sometimes we can look and show each other which color we like best!

“I see red!” “I see pink!”

When we are all finished with our activities, we like to sing the rainbow song while looking at our balloons and colored cars! Let’s keep being interested in colors all year!

今日は毎週木曜日に行っているみんなの大好きなIndoor exercise(体操教室)の様子をお届けします♪

Gym(体育館)に移動すると床に貼ってあるテープを探して座ります！

みんな上手にお山座りができているね☆

手を握って鍵をかけるときれいに座れるよ(^^)

古田先生のかけ声にあわせてライオンさんに変身！🦁

手足がぴーんと伸びておしりが高く上がっていてかっこいいね☆

「かちこちー！」と言われると、その場で手をグーにして止まります！

動かずにじーっと待てたね(^_^)

お次はマット運動！

ぴょんぴょんぴょん！可愛いうさぎさんがいっぱい🐰

小さな川も飛び越えます！せーのーで！

はじめての前回りに挑戦！

さっき練習したライオンさんを思い出して、両手をしっかりとついて頭を引くと、、、

Kindy 1のみんなはこの体操教室の時間が大好きで“Today we have Mr. Furuta?”(今日は古田先生くる？)と月曜日からとっても楽しみにしています♡

This year we all planted and cared for some mustard spinach. We all took care of it and made sure to keep it watered since it was so hot. We were so surprised at how big the plants got.

After growing for about 1 month it was ready to pick. We harvested it all together and were ready to start chowing down on some tasty homegrown spinach.

It grew quite well and we had plenty to share with everyone. It wasn’t too hard to harvest and it was an exciting adventure for everyone. After a quick boil it was ready to eat, and boy were we hungry!

It went well with our lunch and we managed to eat all of it in one sitting. We wish we had even more to eat. It can sometimes be scary to try new foods but we all did our best and ended up enjoying it together.

We certainly want to try growing more of our own food. It tastes so much better when you know that you put the work in to grow it yourself.

こんにちは、Small Kids(1歳児クラス)です！

今日はみんなが大好きな外遊びの様子をご紹介します♪

遊ぶだけでなく、外遊びのための準備や後片付けなど、自分でもできることが増えるように、なるべく促しながら行っています。

まずは自分のロッカーからorange hatを取ってかぶったら、みんなで座って

“〇〇’s turn!”（〇〇の番だよー!)

と名前を呼ばれた順番に外に行きます♪


そのあと自分の場所から靴をとって履きます⭐︎


まだまだ1人では難しいことが多いですが、お手伝いが必要な時は

“help please”(手伝って!)

となるべく言えるように促しています。

準備ができたらいよいよ遊びの時間♪

みんなそれぞれ好きなおもちゃを取って…

いつも楽しそうな笑顔をたくさん見せてくれます⭐︎

ボールを使ったり、


ロープの端っこ同士を先生と持って走り回ったり、


ジャングルジムにも支えながら登れたり、


みんなのびのび楽しく過ごしています♪


途中でみんなで集まってドリンクも飲みます♪

遊び終わったらみんなでお片付けをして…

最後に靴とorange hatを自分のロッカーに戻したら
手を洗って終わりです⭐︎


楽しく遊びながら、外で遊ぶ時のルーティーンもみんな少しづつ理解してきました！

Good job, Small Kids!!

It’s that special time of year to thank our moms, and Kindy 2 decided to go the classic route by making a special flower letter!

It took a bit of time and finesse, but everyone tried their best! The cutting and folding wasn’t easy, but we got the job done. It was also good review as we were able to practice the various parts of a flower!

Of course it wouldn’t be a good craft if there wasn’t a little color involved. So we all were able to color our own little honey bee to hold it all together! No two flowers are alike, and every parent is sure to get something unique and special!

Everyone in Kindy 2 would like to give a BIG “thank you” to all the moms out there! We hope you enjoyed your flowers and had a terrific day! Everyone worked very hard and the results speak for themselves. Great job Kindy 2!

先週金曜日に5月生まれのお友達のお誕生日会をしました♪

今日はその様子をお届けします！

Kindy 1 (年少クラス)ではMusical chairs（イス取りゲーム）をしました。

“Walking,,, walking,,,stop!!!” （歩いて、歩いて、ストップ！）

いつもよりゆっくり歩いて……みんなイスに座れたかな？

Kindy 2ではDuck Duck Goose（ハンカチ落としに似た遊び）を行いました！

それから恒例の質問コーナー☆彡

“What are you going to do on your birthday?”（お誕生日になにをするの？）

“I will make origami cake!”（折り紙でケーキを作るよ！）

最後に大好きなAndrew先生と記念撮影♪

Kindy 3の質問コーナーものぞいてみましょう～！

“What do you want to ask your mom for dinner?”（晩ごはんに何をお母さんへ作ってもらいたい？）

“Pizza and chicken!”（ピザとチキン！）

質問コーナーの後は、Japanese lesson（日本語の授業）があったので日本語でフルーツバスケットとなんでもバスケットに挑戦しました！

先週こどもの日がありましたね！昨日は母の日でしたが、こどもの日も子どもを産んでくれたお母さんに感謝する日であるのをご存じでしたか？

今回はこどもの日のクラフトに取り組んだみんなの様子をお届けします＾＾

白い丸いシールにぐるぐると何かを描いていますね。

ペンをしっかり持ってとても集中しています☆

描き終えたらそのシールを紙に貼って…

カラフルなシールもぺったんぺったん。たくさんのシールを一度に貼れるなんてなんか特別な気分(^ ^)

“I chose green!” (みどりにしたよ！)

“I have a pink sticker!” (ピンクのシールがあるよ！)

たくさん指先を鍛え、シールを全て貼り終えると…

“Look! I did it!” (見て～！できたよ～！)

そしてその紙を繋げた完成品がこちら♬

カラフルなこいのぼりガーランドが完成しました^ ^ 集中して一生懸命指先を使って作り終えられたね。Good job, Preschool!

世界中のお母さんにHappy Children’s Day and Mother’s Day!

Hello everyone!
Greetings from Kindy 1!

We would like to wish all the mothers out there a very happy Mother’s Day!

In Kindy 1, we learnt that it’s important to say I love you when we can to the people that we love- not just with words, but with our actions as well.

We worked really hard and tried our best on this craft for you! We tried lots of colours we like for the flowers… aren’t they beautiful?

We traced our letters and names carefully so you can see, too!

For our photos, we tried to smile lots to show you how happy we are! After all, that’s how you make us feel!

We also wanted to make something a little special so you can keep it with you and think of us! We loved tracing our hands and we were surprised too when they got smaller!

We had lots of fun making these for you and we hope that you can enjoy them this weekend!

Happy Mother’s Day to all our mums! Thank you for everything you do for us, we love you!

From Kindy 1.

こんにちは、Kindy 3 (年長クラス)です。

ゴールデンウィークが明けて、今日からまたIKAに子どもたちの元気な笑顔が戻ってきました！お休みと言えば昨日は子どもの日でしたね。それぞれのクラスでかわいい飾りを作っていたようですが、みんな子どもの日はどんなふうに過ごしたのかな？

ここでKindy 3の子どもたちのこいのぼり制作の様子をのぞいてみましょう♪

今回はさすがKindy最高学年とあり、折り紙とひらがな多めの制作になりました！4パーツも折れるかな！？

1匹を全員で折り上げた後は、同じ折り方で自分で折ってみることに挑戦☆

あれれ？、、ここからどうだったっけ？迷った時はお友だちの出番！

“次はこうだったっけ？” “ここはこの線に合わせて折るんだよ！”

とみんなで協力し合い、全員の3匹の鯉と輝くかぶとが完成しました(^o^)

次のポイントは鯉たちを並べる向きと位置。お手本をよく見てここ！と決めたら、向きを間違えないようにお顔を描き入れていくよ。

“ウロコは何色で描こう？”

“この色の鯉にこの色を使って描くとあんまりよく見えないみたい、、”

“じゃあこの色はどうかな？”

仕上げにかっこよくタイトルを書き入れたら、、

じゃじゃーん♡

難易度高めの工程にもめげず、それすらも楽しみながらがんばって作ったみんなの作品がこちら。とってもかっこよく出来上がったね！

どんどん折り紙の腕を上げている子どもたちの今後の作品にも乞うご期待(*^^*)

Kindy 3のみんなも、お空におよぐこいのぼりのように元気に大きくなりますように☆
