こんにちは、Kindy 1（年少クラス）です！

今月のSocial Science（社会の授業）では、occupations（職業）について学習をしてきました。レッスンの様子を覗いてみよう！

フラッシュカードに慣れてきたので、先月の places in the community (場所とコミュニティ）のおさらいも兼ねてマッチングゲームを行いました！

“Where do teachers work?” （先生たちはどこで働くのかな？）

“They work at the school!”(学校で働くよ！）

↓こんな質問にも答えられるようになってきました！

“Who works with a doctor?”（お医者さんと一緒に働くのは誰かな？）

“Nurse!”（看護師さん！）

もうすぐハロウィーンということもあり、パーティに先駆けて様々なお仕事のユニフォームを試着してみました(^^)

Kara先生が見せた職業のフラッシュカードを答えたら、その人達が着ているユニフォームを探しに行きます！

誰が早く見つけて着られるかな？　Go!Go!

ヘルメットを被って、、、

さあ、何に変身するのでしょか？

答えは、Astronaut!（宇宙飛行士）でした！

“Who are you?”（あなたたちは何屋さん？）

“We are chefs!”（シェフです！）

こちらは、doctors!(お医者さん)

聴診器がよく似合っているね！

お医者さんと一緒にhospital（病院）で働くのがnurse!（看護師さん）

こちらは、baker（パン屋さん）とmail carrier（郵便屋さん）です！

彼らは朝早くから頑張ってお仕事しているんだよね！

最後は、火事が起きた時にみんなを助けてくれるfirefighters（消防士さん）！

先月消防署見学に行って実際にお会いしたばかりだから、みんなよく覚えていたね☆

Hello Kindy 3!

Halloween is finally here and we couldn’t be more excited for the festivities. We carved our pumpkin and it was a lot of work for everyone. Everyone got really into it and wanted to do even more!

The first step of carving a pumpkin is of course, the messy part. It needs to be cleaned out first so it will last through the time it’s on display. It was yucky and slimy and even smelled bad but we got it clean and ready.

But who doesn’t like getting a little dirty. Everyone kept coming back for more. Even though the gross part was finished, we still had a lot of work to do before our pumpkin was complete.

On to the carving. We had a big pumpkin and it needed a lot of cutting to get the face looking nice and everyone did their part to help. By the end of it we were all tired and ready for a break.

Our pumpkin looks great and is sure to spook some of the guests at the Halloween party. We can’t wait to show you what we made. Excellent work, Kindy 3.

今日は、ハロウィン行事のPumpkin Carving (かぼちゃのくり抜き)をみんなで行った様子をお届けします！！欧米ではハロウィンシーズンになると、家族団欒の恒例行事として行われるPumpkin Carving。ほとんどのお友達が初体験なのではないでしょうか？それでは、さっそく見ていきましょう！

“What’s this?” (これ、なーんだ？)

“It’s pumpkin!!” (かぼちゃ！！)

危ないところはToni先生にやってもらいながら、みんなで楽しみました！

“Go go, Toni! Go go, Toni!” (がんばれがんばれ、Toni先生！)

Wow!!! (わぁ〜!!!)

パカっとかぼちゃのヘタ部分が取れ、歓声があがりました☆

お次はみんなの番です！

“うわぁ〜”と言いながらも、とっても笑顔で中身の種を触っています(^ ^)

“Can you take out the seeds?” (中の種を取り出してね！)

“Toni, I did it!” (Toni先生！できたよ！！)

恐る恐る手を中に入れる子もいれば、大胆にわたのヌメヌメを楽しむ子もいて、さまざまな表情が見られました♡ そして、みんなで中身を取り出し、仕上げにお顔をくり抜くと…

“Here he is!! It’s Jack!” (ジャコランタンのジャックの完成！)

みんなで名前をジャックと命名しました！ 実はどんなお顔にするかどうかもみんなで多数決で決めたんです！みんなのおかげで、ニッコニコのジャコランタンが出来上がりました☆

これからも季節に合わせたさまざまな体験をしていき、驚きや発見など豊かな感性を身につけていこうね(^○^)♡

Hello again, everyone! This week’s Kindy 2 blog is going to be a fun one for sure! Normally we tell you about what goes on in Kindy 2, but recently we took a small trip to visit our friends in Small Kids class!

Recently, Kindy 2 has been learning about leadership. Being a good leader requires many qualities, one of which is being nice to those around you.

Kindy 2 showed great leadership qualities by playing with smaller children and teaching them how to play nicely. It was also a great opportunity to forge a strong bond with another class.

Patience is also an important quality required to be a leader, and Kindy 2 showed it in spades. Smaller kids are still learning how things work, and Kindy 2 did a great job of understanding that.

Also, it was simply just a great time to have fun! Everyone was super excited to interact with each other!

Overall, it was a good opportunity for everyone to expand their horizons a bit. It’s always good to meet new people and Kindy 2 set a great example for their younger friends. Fantastic job, Kindy 2!

こんにちは、Small Kids（1歳児クラス）です！　　

最近では、外で遊ぶことがとても気持ちのいい季節になってきましたね(^^)

4月の頃と比べても自分でできることが増えたり、お友達との関わりも増えたりして、遊び方が豊かになってきたみんな⭐︎

今回はそんなみんなの外遊びの様子をご紹介します♪

まずはorange hat（オレンジ帽子）を被ろうね！

年度初めの頃は被ることを嫌がることもありましたが、今ではみんな自ら帽子を手に取り、自分でも上手に被れるようになってきています⭐︎

靴も自分で履けるよう練習をしています！

準備が整ったらさっそく遊ぼう〜！

お家の中でお友達と一緒に遊んだり、

時には窓から顔を覗かせお友達に呼びかけたりします♪

“Hello~!”（やっほ〜！）

最近ではみんなお友達と一緒に遊ぶことをより楽しんでいます⭐︎

みんなで1本のrope（縄跳び）を持って、電車ごっこのようなことをしたり、

手を繋いでhula hoop （フラフープ）を飛び越えたりしています♪

先生たちもお友達同士で楽しく遊ぶ様子をたくさん見られて嬉しいです♡

“Run, run, run!”（走れ走れ〜！）

もちろん先生と一緒に遊ぶことも楽しいね⭐︎

すると何やらLaken先生の所にみんな集まってきました！

Laken先生が持ってきたのはbubbles（シャボン玉）！

みんなとーっても嬉しそう♡

シャボン玉をキャッチできるかな〜？

お外ならではの遊びをすることはとても楽しいね！

遊びの時間が終わったらきちんとお片付けもします(^^)

Orange hatもクリップで挟んでロッカーにしまうまでがお片付けです♪

たくさんいろんなことを自分でできるようになって、お友達との関わりもより楽しめるようになったみんな⭐︎

これからもみんなで楽しい時間をいっぱい過ごしていこうね⭐︎

Hello from the Kindy 1 class!

Things have been getting spooky around here as we’ve been getting ready for Halloween. We’re all very excited for the Halloween party that is coming up!

We’ve been learning our Halloween flashcards and we’ve been practicing our Halloween song and dance.

“I am a ghost. OOooOOOooooO!”

To help us get in the Halloween Spirit we made a festive Halloween craft, Ghosts in a window!

We listened carefully as Kara explained the directions.

First, we wrote our names on the back so we could tell our crafts apart. We’ve been getting good at writing our names.

Next, we cut out our paper ghosts. We made sure to take our time and to be extra careful while using the scissors.

Once our ghosts were cut out, it was time to glue them on the orange paper!

The next part of the craft was neat because we got to create our windows. We used black paint to color the popsicle sticks.

The paint was a little messy, but we had fun!

After our popsicle sticks were dry it was time to assemble our windows! We used glue to hold them together.

Nice looking windows, everyone!

Once our windows were assembled, we glued our ghosts to the back and put on the finishing touches. We loved adding the googley eyes!

Our ghosts are finished! Say “cheese!”

BOO! Great job, Kindy 1! Your ghosts turned out so spooky and cute! We can’t wait to display them for the Halloween party!

こんにちは、Kindy 3 (年長クラス) です♪

秋になり、寒くなってきましたね。

Kindy 3ではクリスマスコンサートに向けて少しずつ、歌やダンスの練習を進めています。

今回は子供達のハンドベルの練習の様子をお伝えします♪

練習にはもちろんハンドベルが必要ですが、最初はみんなで、「ドレミ」の音階について話しました。

“What is the next key?”  (次にくる音は何かな?)

“I know!” (わかるよ！)

みんなで「ドレミ」の音階を練習したら、手の動きだけで持ち方や音の鳴らし方について練習します。

まずはハンドベルを持つ手を準備！

ハンドベルは右手で持ちます。

“Put your right hand up, please!” (右手をあげてね！)

みんなできたかな？

持つ手を確認したら、ハンドベルの鳴らし方を教わります。

音を鳴らさない時は、ベルを胸にあてて鳴らないようにします。

“Put your bell on your chest!” (ベルを胸に当ててね！)

鳴らす時には自分の体の前で大きな円を描くように手を動かします。

“Move your bell down and around! ” (ベルを動かしてね！)

下から上にゆっくりと。

イメージトレーニングは完璧！

みんなが音の鳴らしかたを覚えたら、３人１組で順番に鳴らしていきます。

初めて使うハンドベルに少し緊張した様子の子供達。

一定のリズムで、自分の番を待って、順番が来たら、、、、

Ring! (リーン)

自分の順番が来るとドキドキした様子の子供達もいましたが、ベルで音を鳴らすとみんなとても楽しそうでした♪

隣のお友達と一緒に鳴らすのに最初は苦労しているようでしたが、練習をして息が揃うようになってきました！

Christmas Concert (クリスマスコンサート)でのみんなの演奏がとても楽しみです♪

Hello everyone, Preschool Class here!

This month, we had a new type of craft that included our favorite thing: making a face. But, even though we are very good at drawing hair, giving a haircut is very different! Our latest crafts let us practice just that! We were able to use scissors to cut the ‘hair’ on our Halloween Monsters!

Toni started us by showing us how to use scissors. We understood that our daddy finger went into the top handle and that the silver part of the scissors should face away from us. 

Then we were off! Some of us were good at stretching the paper hair away to cut safely, but some wanted greater control and cut small snips at a time very close to our hold. We were all so careful!

Some of us cut big lengths, and some of us cut little by little from the ends. But we all liked to get our paper and keep cutting for as long as Toni and Nanami would let us!

“I did it!”

We had so much fun practicing over and over.

“How do you hand your scissors over?”

Toni and Nanami taught us scissors safety, too! After we finished cutting, we had to close our scissors and pass them over to our teachers handle first. We didn’t practice walking with scissors safely, but Toni showed us how to do that too. 

“Ready for the face? Here is your monster’s nose!”

Once we did our noses, we got stickers for the eyes. All of us did so well, see?

“I can put it on!” 

Once we were finished, we tried to put on our hats all by ourselves!

“Look, Nanami!”

We all wanted to see our reflections, so we went to the mirror outside of the classroom to see for ourselves. 

“Awooo!”

Like a werewolf, we all howled in joy for this craft! It was so fun, and we continued to wear this craft for a little into playtime, too!

こんにちはKindy 2（年中クラス）です！

Kindy 2では毎週火曜日にJapanese Lessonを行っています！
今日は先週の食育レッスンの様子をご紹介します♪

「今日大きな声で挨拶ができた子ー？」
「今日たくさん遊んだ子ー？」
先生の質問に元気よく「はーい！！」と手を挙げるKindy 2のみんな♪

「じゃあみんなどうしてそんなに元気いっぱいなのかなー？」
「たくさん寝てるから！」「今日朝ごはんいっぱい食べたから！」「お野菜食べたから！」とみんな思い思いに意見を発表します！

どうやって食べ物から元気をもらっているのかをイラストを使い説明しました！

3色食品
赤色のグループは「体を強くする」
黄色のグループは「元気の元」
緑色のグループは「病気から体を守る」
それぞれの色とどんな働きをするのかを学びました！

どの食べ物がどんな働きをするのか、わかったかな？クイズでチェック！先生からの「お魚は何色のグループですか？」の問題に真剣に考えるKindy 2のみんな😊

「正解は、、、、、赤色のグループです！」
「やったーーー！！」とみんな大喜び⭐️

レッスンの後にはワークシートでしっかりと復習しました！

次の日のランチタイムでは、大きなお口を開けてたくさんお野菜を食べている子や、
完食する子が増えて先生はとっても嬉しかったです❤️

“I can eat chicken today because chicken makes strong bones!!”
(今日この唐揚げ全部食べる！だって鶏肉は体を強くするから！)
“Yeaaaay! I ate all! So I’m strong!”
(やったー！今日完食したから体が強くなったぞ！)

今では、お友達同士で今日のランチの食材が体にどんな働きをするのか、毎日ポスターで確認しています♪

これからもたくさん食べてたくさん遊んでたくさん学ぼうね♪

みなさんこんにちは！

朝晩で気温差が大きく、すっかり秋を感じる季節になってきましたね。そんな先週末は、10月生まれのお友だちのお誕生日をお祝いしました♡ 今月はKindy 1 (年少クラス)とKindy 2 (年中クラス)に主役を発見！さっそく見ていきましょう(^^)

こちらはKindy 1。お友だちへ質問をすること、自分で考えて回答することにもずいぶんと慣れてきました！主役への質問タイムでは、お友だちに聞いてみたいことがたくさんあるようで、みんな積極的〜♡

“What cake do you want?” (どんなケーキがほしい？)

“I want a Splatoon cake.” (スプラトゥーンのケーキがほしいな！)

お待ちかねのレクリエーションでは、先生たちオリジナルゲームにチャレンジ☆ かごめかごめの要領で、主役のお友だちにバレないよう、みんなで静かにおもちゃのケーキをパス、、

“Who has the cake?!” (ケーキをもっているのはだーれだ？！)

ピンポーン！見つかっちゃった〜♪

新しいゲームへの理解力もどんどんつけているようで、あっという間にこのゲームにもハマってしまったKindy 1でした(^O^) お友だちにお祝いしてもらえてよかったね♡

続いてKindy 2をのぞいてみると、、

“What do you want for dinner?” (お誕生日のディナーは何が食べたい？)
I want french fries. (フライドポテトが食べたい！)
I want chicken. (チキンが食べたい！)

最近食育に力を入れているKindy 2では、食べ物に関する話題が欠かせません。ポケモンにも夢中(Andrew先生も一緒に 笑)な子どもたちからは、ポケモンのおもちゃをリクエストする声も(^^)

Birthday Songでお祝いをしたら、次はお外で走り回ろう！

今月のレクリエーションはみんな大好きOctopus Game！主役の2人がOctopus (おに)になり、園庭を駆け抜けるクラスメイトたちを捕まえます。

全員気合いばっちりのこの表情。捕まらずにゴールまでたどり着こうと必死でした！

最後はピカチュウ(Andrew先生)から逃げられるかな？！

捕まると悔しそうにしつつも、お友だちにもエールを送りながら楽しんだKindy 2でした☆

改めまして10月生まれのみんな、お誕生日おめでとう☆ 家族から、先生たちから、お友だちから、、お誕生日をお祝いしてもらえるってとっても嬉しいね♡  みんなが次の1年も元気に楽しく過ごせます様に。

Hello, we are Small Kids!

Halloween is coming and we are getting prepared. We are making Halloween wreaths with spooky ghosts and stickers! We are so focused on Laken explaining the craft.

“It`s a ghost, boooooo!”

Picking out the colors is lots of fun!

“What color would you like?”

“Can you open the marker?”

We sometimes need a little help to get the marker open. 

Coloring the aluminium foil is hard but it`s fun!

“Pick out the color of ghost you would like.”

We are trying our best to stick on the eyes and mouth of our ghost!

“Stick, stick.”

Finding the stickers we want is awesome! There are so many colors.

“This one!”

“Where do you want to stick them?”

Once we finished our craft we just had to show it off!

“Blegh!”

Keep having lots of fun Small Kids!

こんにちは、Kindy 1です♪

今回は、Science(理科の授業)で行った実験の様子をお届けします。

水の入ったバケツに、ボール、スプーン、りんご、オレンジ、コインなど重さや形の異なったものを入れ、それらが浮くのか沈むのかについて予想を立てて実験をしていきます。

それでは、実験開始！

“Do you think the apple will float or sink?”(このりんごは浮くかな？沈むのかな？）

“I think it will sink!”（沈むと思う！）

正解は、、、

“ It’s floating!”（浮いたね！）

この後、Kara先生がおやつにいただきました　(笑)

次は、スプーンで試してみよう！

みんなの予想はどっちかなー？

“It sank!”（沈んだね！）

スプーンはりんごよりも少し軽いから沈むと思っていたけど、

実は、重さではなくて密度っていうものが関係しているんだって！

スプーンは水よりも密度が重いから沈んじゃうんだね。

最後は少し条件を変えて実験をしてみたよ！

コインは、上からそのまま落とすと沈みますが、あるものを使うと浮かせることができるんだよ！

アルミホイルでボートを作ってみました。

その上にゆっくりとコインをのせていきます。

みんなは、何枚のコインが浮くと思うかな？

“I think it’s 5!”（5枚！）

“I think it’s 100!”（100枚！）

正解は、25枚でした！

アルミホイルのボートはその形によって浮くことができ、その上に乗ったものも浮かせることが出来るんだって！

予測を立てて、実験をする楽しさは味わえたかな？実際に目で見て結果を確かめると、予測と違っていても当っていても、発見があって面白かったね！

Hello Kindy 3!

A special time of year is coming soon and I hope everyone is ready for a spooky time. Everyone here is getting excited with Halloween closing in and we are getting ready for the festivities. 

For the Halloween party, we wanted to do our part to contribute to the decorations and what better way than to make our own haunted house. We all knew that it would be messy but that is half the fun!

We decided on six different colors for each of the sides and painted them the base colors.

Everyone worked really well together by sharing the work with each other and helping to fill in all the uncolored spaces. I think we were able to cover every bit of the house with color.

The house was quite big so it took some time to paint everything and we all go really messy with paint on our hand and arms. Time to get cleaned up!

The final result tuned out great and we cant wait to add more decorations to the house to make it our own unique design. I wonder what scary things are hidden inside.

Great work Kindy 3! Let’s make our last Halloween of Kindy wonderful!

みなさんこんにちは！

SDGsに取り組むIKAの特別イベント第3弾の様子をお届けします。今回はなんとPreschool～Kindy 3の4学年合同開催です☆

今回のテーマは16個めのゴールである、“Peace, justice, and strong institutions” (平和と公正をすべての人に)です。みんなで“The world is nice and fair for everyone!” (世界がみんなに優しくて公平であるように！)と覚えました。

｢みんなに優しく｣はIKAでいつも気をつけてることだね♪ 例えば…

“Share things with everyone.” (みんなでものを貸し借りしようね。)

“No hurting your friends.” (お友達にいじわるしないよ。)

うんうん、とみんなうなずいています。

次はストーリータイム。

なんでも独り占めしたくていつも1人な男の子。シェアしてみて初めて貸し借りの良さを知り、お友達と楽しく過ごせるようになるお話でした。シェアするといい事づくめだと分かったね‪☺︎‬

そしてそして、クラフトタイム！

5つのグループに分かれてパズルのピースをそれぞれデコレーションします。何が出来るかは組み立ててからのお楽しみ…♪

“Are you ready?”

“OK!”

普段なかなか交流できない他学年のお友達と協力して、色塗りしていきます。

“I want dark blue.” (青色の色鉛筆がないなあ。)

“Here you are!” (こっちにあるよ。どうぞ！)

“Thank you!” (ありがとう！)

“Let’s color together!” (一緒に色塗りしよう！)

そして色塗り完成！

“Good job everyone! Show us your puzzle pieces, please!” (とってもきれいに塗れたね！先生たちに見せて！)

みんなのピースを組み合わせていくと…

なんと今回のテーマのロゴになりました〜！Wow! So colorful!

次はみんなでゲームタイム。

お友達と手を繋いだまま順番にフラフープをくぐるゲーム。チームワークが試されます…！

体をくねらせたりお友達がくぐりやすいように助け合ったら…できた！みんな手をつなぎながら上手にくぐれたね！

他学年といっぱい過ごせて楽しかったね♪

こんにちは、Preschoolです！

10月になり、IKAにハロウィンがやってきました〜！Toni先生もNanami先生もハロウィンが大好きです！さまざまなものがハロウィン仕様になり、すっかりハロウィンムードなクラスの様子をご紹介します(^ ^)♪

Color (色)のフラッシュカードがghost (おばけ)になり、おばけの“oooOO〜！” というかけ声と共に楽しんでいます。

そしてアルファベットのフラッシュカードでも…

“V-v vampire! nom nom nom!” (V-v ヴァンパイア！むしゃむしゃむしゃ〜！)

みんなすぐにアルファベットそれぞれのジェスチャーを覚えられました☆

ストーリータイムでも、ハロウィンについての絵本の読み聞かせをすると、みんな興味津々に絵本の世界にのめり込む様子が見られました！

“Trick or Treat!” (お菓子をくれないとイタズラしちゃうぞ！)

“Happy Halloween!”(ハッピーハロウィン！)

ハロウィンの決まり文句もお手のもの！！

そしてアクティビティでは、みんなで教室のデコレーションを楽しみました！

“Put it on your head!!” (みんな頭をタッチ！！)

みんなが持っているのはフワフワのわたです！それを…

“Stick stick stick!!” (ぺたぺた！) どんどん張っていきます！！

Ta-da!! もこもこの可愛いおばけが出来上がりました♡　“One more time, one more time!!” (もう1回！もう1回！)とみんなとっても楽しんだ様です(^ ^)　みんなで作ったおばけさんが窓からみんなの様子を見守ってくれています☆

これからもPreschoolのみんなとたくさんのアクティビティやクラフトを通してハロウィンを楽しんでいきたいと思います♡今月末のハロウィンパーティーが楽しみだね！！！

Hello again, everyone! This week’s Kindy 2 blog will be about show and tell! Show and tell is an important part of the Kindy 2 curriculum. It’s a great opportunity to share something about yourself, while also giving our friends a chance to ask questions they might not normally get to ask!

It takes a little bit of getting used to, but after a bit of practice everyone is starting to show a lot of improvement!

This past year we’ve been able to discuss so many things! Along the way, we’ve also learned to ask so many unique questions!

Sometimes it can be a bit scary to talk in front of a group, even if we’re talking in front of friends. In order to help everyone feel more relaxed, we sit in a circle where no one stands out and it feels a bit safer to speak.

Once we’re done talking and no one has anymore questions, we get an up-close look at the show and tell item! Sometimes it can be a bit hard to see during question time, so this is a great chance for everyone to get a really good look!

Overall, everyone has shown good improvement doing show and tell. It is always fun to learn more about our friends, and we hope you all keep bringing in awesome things to talk about! Thank you, Kindy 2!

こんにちは、Kindy（年少、年中、年長クラス）です！

今回は、先週の金曜日に行った遠足での様子をお届けします♪

残念ながら雨で芋ほりはできませんでした…が！

室内にあるたっくさんの遊具であそんで、みんなとても楽しそうでした(^^)/

ではさっそくその様子を見ていきましょう！

まずはじめに目にとまったのが、この黄色いトランポリンのような遊具です。

ボヨンボヨンはねるあそび場に、みんな大興奮！！

飛んだりすべったり、色々なあそび方で楽しんでいたね♪

もう一つの目玉が、建物のまんなかにあった大きな塔です。

“It’s so tall!”　（とっても高いね！）

らせん状の坂に大興奮！みんなでたくさん走ったね(^^♪

トンネルも、みんなで一気にくぐれるほどの大きさ！

みんなで手をつないで、塔のてっぺんに向かいました！

Let’s go!!

そして、てっぺんまで行くと展望エリアに到着！

観覧車をバックに、パシャリ☆

てっぺんからの帰り道では、Kindy 3はWill先生に追いかけられていたね（笑）

トランポリンと塔以外にも、カベに映った影を手で動かしたり、

ロープの先にぶら下がっているボールに乗ったり、

地面に生えたキノコのようなオブジェの上に立って、バランスをとったりと、たくさんの種類の遊具であそべたね♪

たくさんあそんだあとは、みんなでクラス写真をとりました(^^)/

こちらはKindy 1（年少クラス）、

Kindy 2（年中クラス）、

そしてKindy 3（年長クラス）です！

おともだちと遊んで終わりではなく、バスの運転手さんや、施設のスタッフさんにきちんとお礼が言えるKindyのみんなでした(^^♪

みんなが楽しみながら成長している姿が見られて、とっても嬉しかったです！

こんにちは、Small Kids（1歳児クラス）です！

先週から10月に入りましたね！10月といえば、ハロウィン！Small Kidsでもハロウィンについてたくさん触れ始めました(^^)⭐︎

今回は、一気にハロウィンムードになったSmall Kidsのみんなの様子をご紹介します♪

“Look!”（見て！）と、なぜだか教室を見上げています！

その視線の先には…

ハロウィンのデコレーションがありました！！

10月から教室がハロウィンにデコレーションされて、みんなよく指をさして、たくさん興味を示しています♪

もちろんレッスンもたくさんハロウィン仕様に変わりました(^^)

アルファベットやtheme学習ではハロウィンのフラッシュカードを用いています！

“Trick or treat!”（お菓子をくれないといたずらしちゃうぞ！）という、ハロウィンお決まりのフレーズも学んでいますよ♪

みんなジェスチャーをしてなりきっています♡

“Vampire!”（ドラキュラ！）

“Haunted house!”（お化け屋敷！）

時にハロウィンにはちょっと不気味なものもあるね！

“Eeek!”（きゃー！）

もちろんゲームもハロウィン仕様に！

Pumpkin（かぼちゃ）に書いてあるアルファベットを答えるゲームや、

箱の中から1つcandy（キャンディ）を取って何色か答えたら、

monster（モンスター）にキャンディをあげるゲームなどを行っています⭐︎

お歌もハロウィンの歌を歌っていますよ(^^)♪

Laken先生もghost（おばけ）になりきっています⭐︎（笑）

みんなノリノリです♪

お歌の途中には、ハロウィンに出てくるいろんなものにもなりきります⭐︎

“I’m a skeleton! bones, bones, bones~!”（ガイコツだよ！ほねほねほね〜！）

Story time（読み聞かせの時間）にもハロウィンに関する絵本を読んでいますよ(^^)

みんなにとって、きっと初めてきちんと触れているハロウィン⭐︎お友達と一緒にハロウィンについて学ぶことができて、とても楽しいね(^^)⭐︎

月末にはハロウィンパーティーもあります！

みんなでハロウィンパーティーを行えることを先生たちも楽しみにしているよ♡

Good job, Small Kids!

Hello from the Kindy 1 classroom!

During the beginning of the year we worked hard on learning and tracing the alphabet. Now that we’re halfway through the year, we’ve been busy practicing phonics and writing the letters on our own.

We know that phonics are the sounds that each of the letters make. Phonics are how we learn to read words.

For each flashcard, Kara sounds out each letter and makes a motion with her hands. “B! buh, buh, buh, buh.”

After she is finished, we repeat what she says and does.

We always have so much fun when we practice our phonics sounds!

We’ve been doing so well recognizing our phonics sounds that we are able to practice reading small words.

“What sound does B make?” “Buh.” “Great job!”

“What sounds does A make?” “Ah” “Nice work!”

“Can you read this word?” “Bat!” “Excellent!”

After we practice phonics, we are ready to work on our writing.

Before we begin, Kara has us write our names at the top of the page.

We can do it all by ourselves!

Next, Kara asks us what letter it is and what each of the pictures are. We take turns answering.

“It’s a vacuum!” “It’s a web!”

We watch carefully as Kara writes each letter on the board.

After we are done watching, we practice writing the letters with our fingers!

Once we are done practicing, we are ready to write the letters on our own.

“Your big V looks great! “Good job!”

After we write the letters nicely on our own, Kara and Momoko give us a stamp.

“You did it! “Great job!”

After we get our stamp, we get to color!

“So colorful!” “Looks nice!”

Before we go home, we make sure to clean our desks and put our chairs away.

You’re doing a wonderful job using phonics and writing the alphabet, Kindy 1.

You’ve improved so much, and Kara and Momoko are proud of how hard you’ve been working. Keep up the great work!

Hello from the afternoon classes! We are English Time 1, 2 and 3 and we love to learn English!

During Fun Week for the month of September, we had an entertaining new activity called “Number Curling”. This was a great way for us to practice and review some of the numbers we have learned this year.

First, we used colored pencils to decorate our boards.

“Nice coloring, everyone!”

Next, our teachers explained the rules of the game to us.

“Slide your piece and aim for the numbers on the board.”

“Can you get it in the middle?”

After we learned how to play, we were able to try it on our own!

“Who can get the higher score?”

“What number did you land on?”

“You got 100 points, good job!”

We had fun seeing who could get the highest score!

“Good job playing together everyone!”

Your “Number Curling” boards turned out great!

After “Number Curling”, we played another game called “All My Neighbors”.

Some of us have never played this game before, so we listened carefully when our teachers explained how to play.

Our teachers helped us the first couple of rounds until we got the hang of it.

“Can you say all my neighbors who are wearing socks?” “Good job!”

“If you’re wearing socks stand up and switch!”

“Good job! You found an empty seat!”
