みなさんこんにちは！

SDGsに取り組むIKAの特別イベント第8弾の様子をお届けします。今回は、Kindy 2とKindy 3のお友だちが対象です‪☺︎‬

今回のテーマは6個目のゴールである、“Clean water and sanitation” (安全な水とトイレを世界中に)。スローガンは“Everyone can use clean water!” (みんながきれいな水を使えるように！)と覚えました。

“Can Toni use all of the clean water?” (Toni先生がきれいな水ぜーんぶ使っちゃっていいかな？)

“No!!”

“We need to share clean water, right?” (きれいな水はみんなでシェアしないといけないよね？)

“Yes!”

ストーリータイムでは、水の循環について学びました。

海にある水がお日様の熱で温められて、雲になっていきます。大きくなった雲から雨になり、川や海へ流れていきます。これをずっとくりかえしているんだって。水もリサイクルされているってことだね♪

みんな絵本に興味津々！じーっとのぞきこんでいます笑

アクティビティタイムではWater Detectiveというゲームをしました！1枚の絵の中に水を上手に使えている人、むだづかいをしている人がいます。見つけられるかな〜？

“He’s using too much water! It’s not good!” (この人水いっぱい使ってる！よくないよ！)

“He’s washing dishes nicely! It’s good for water!” (この人はお皿洗ってるけど、水のむだづかいはしていないよ！いいことだね♪)

実験もしました！きれいな水の中に油を入れると…あー！汚れちゃった(;_;) この汚れた水をきれいにするために油をすくってみますが…

“Oh no!”

“It’s hard!” (むずかしいよー！)

ある程度汚れた水を集めたら、今度はそれをろ過してみます。

“Is it getting clean?” (きれいになってる？)

“Just a little bit.” (ちょっとだけ。)

色は透明に近づいたけど、まだ少し油のようなものが見えたね。油の入った水をきれいにするのってむずかしい！きれいな水の大切さがよくわかったね‪☆

久しぶりのSDGsイベント、楽しかったね♡

Thank you for coming! We learned that there are many ways to save clean water and you did a great job of sharing us your thoughts. Keep on thinking of what we can do for our SDGs, “17 goals that make everyone happy!”

なんとToni先生が、船を使って海から油を取るお仕事をしたことがあるんだって！その時の写真も見せてくれました‪‪☺︎‬

そして、今回のSDGsイベントで、スタンプカードが5個たまったお友達が増えました！Thank you♡ 賞状とprizeをもらいました！まだ5個たまってない子も、またイベントに参加してスタンプをもらってね♪待ってるよ〜！

This month our theme was THE WEATHER!!! The weather is something we experience EVERY DAY! So it’s only fair to learn about it! 

FUN FACT: every day before we begin our lesson, we check the weather. 

First, we look outside by “putting on our binoculars” and then we say what we see. For example “It’s cloudy”

Next, we go to  Mike’s cookie jar and pick the weather pattern we see and we stick it on his hand. We each get turns to stick the weather cookie on Mike’s hand! Mike is our classroom monster and he’s hungry every day for weather cookies! 

“Yummy Yummy” 

Finally, whoever comes up to stick the weather cookie tells the class what the weather is like. We say “It’s _________” We also do the matching action with help from Kerstin and Mika. For this picture we’re saying “It’s cloudyyyyy” 🙂 

So, as we went along the month studying the weather, we practiced every day using our flashcards. We learnt the word and matching actions. 

Then we played a matching game using Mike’s weather cookies. Kerstin showed us the flashcard and then gave us two weather cookies. We had to look at the picture and choose the right one. “Thinking Thinking Thinking” 

When we chose the right one we had to place it on the flashcard. “Stick Stick Stick”

Afterwards we sang the weather song “How’s the weather?” 

But we didn’t end there… When we are ready to go home we look outside again to see if the weather has changed. We stand near the door and look outside together!

AND to top it off, we read weather books all month for story time. We sat nicely and listened to different stories about the weather. We LOVE story time! 

Today, it’s super rainy so remember to use your umbrellas, raincoats and rain boots!

こんにちは、Kindy 2（年中クラス）です！

今回はShow and Tell（発表の練習）を紹介します！5月のテーマはMy favorite character（お気に入りのキャラクター）でした！

さっそくみんなの好きなキャラクターをのぞいてみましょう！👀

“This is my show and tell.”（これが私お気に入りです！）の文で発表をはじめます！

次は好きなキャラクターと理由を言います！

“I like Anpanman because he can fly.”

（アンパンマンが好き♡だって空飛べるから！）

かわいいから！かっこいいから！

みんないろいろな理由を教えてくれます☆

次は質問タイム！

“Does anyone have questions?”（質問ある人ー？）

みんなとっても元気に手をあげます！

“Who got it for you?” （誰からもらったの？）

“My daddy got it for me.” （パパがくれたよ！）

最近学んだ過去形も使えちゃう！さすがKindy 2！

“What color on the toy do you like?”（そのおもちゃのどの色が好き？）

“I like pink.” （ピンクが好き♡）

“When do you play with it?”（いつ遊ぶの？）など

疑問詞を使って質問します！

最後はみんなに見せます！

みんなじっくり見たくて、

“Walk slowly, please.”（ゆっくり歩いてー！）とお願いしちゃいます！

Kindy2になって、2周目のShow and Tellが終わりました。みんな慣れてきたかな？

6月のテーマはMy favorite book（お気に入りの本）です！本の内容を説明できるといいね☆少し難しい質問にも挑戦しよう！

みんなどんな本を持ってきてくれるかな？先生たちもとっても楽しみにしてるよ♪

こんにちは、Kindy 3 (年長クラス)です！

本日は、Japanese Lesson (にほんごのレッスン)での様子をお届けします。

今回のレッスンではお友だちと協力し、自分たちのオリジナルストーリーを考えるあそびを行いました。

文章のない４つのイラストを見て、何が起こっているのかをお友だちと話し合います。

最初は決められた順番に並んだイラストを見て、お話づくりに取り組みました。

おんなじ絵を見ていても、感じることは一人一人違います。

女の子のお腹から音が出ている絵を見て、

「女の子はきっとおなかが痛いんだよ！」

「この子はおなかが空いているんだよ！」

という子どもたち。いろんな意見が出てきます♪

今度は自分たちでイラストの順番も決めていきます。

「ぼくはこの絵が最初だと思う！」

「この子はホットケーキを作ってるんだよ♪」

お友だちとアイデアを交換しながら、渡されたイラストをあっちへ動かしたり、こっちへ動かしたり。自分のストーリーを考え、お友だちに伝えます。

意見が一緒の時もあれば、違う時もあり…。レッスン内で一番の盛り上がりを見せました♪

みんなが自分のオリジナルストーリーを考えたら、発表タイム！

イラストを見て自分がどう思ったかを、お友だちに教えます。

「発表してくれる人手をあげてー！」

『はーーーいっ！！！』

みんな大きな声で元気よく手をあげてくれました。

みんなで想像力を使い、ストーリーを考えたお話しづくり。

こんにちは！Saturday School (土曜日幼児・小学生クラス)です！

今回は、5月の様子をお届けします♪

5月の1週目から、Show and Tell (発表の練習)がはじまりました！

はじめての英語での発表ということもあり、緊張しているようでしたが、みんな先生と一緒に上手に発表ができました♪

Body Parts (からだ)のレッスンで、Kindy (幼児クラス)のみんなはパズル形式で男の子と女の子のからだをつくりました☆

Elementary (小学生クラス)のみんなは、選んだフラッシュカードに書かれたからだの部位をホワイトボードに描いていき、みんなでモンスターを作り上げました(>_<)

“So creepy!” (とっても不気味！)

そして、Weather (天気)も学んだね♪

Kindy (幼児クラス)は花紙とわたを使って虹を作りました(#^.^#)

紙をのりでペタペタ貼って、とってもカラフルに仕上げたね☆

Elementary (小学生クラス)では、神経衰弱が行われました！

中々ペアが揃わず、白熱していたね!(^^)!

Week 2 (2週目)のメインテーマはColors (色)でした！

Kindy (幼児クラス)は２つの色をまぜるとどんな色になるのかを実験で学びました！

まずはLaken先生が色水を一緒に混ぜてくれる子を探しています☆

みんな手をあげて、やる気まんまん(^^)/

では、赤いろと青いろを混ぜたら何色になるかな～？黄いろと青いろを混ぜたらどうだろう？

赤いろと青いろを混ぜたらむらさきいろになったよ！！みんなとっても興味津々で見ていました♪

さっそく、ワークシートに実験の結果をぬっていこう！上手にぬれているね(^^♪

Kindy (幼児クラス)ではもう一つ、色を塗った画用紙の上にキッチンペーパーをかさねて、その上から水をふきかけるというアクティビティもしました！

キッチンペーパーに水をふきかけたら、なんと白いろだったチューリップが赤いろのチューリップに変わったよ！( ^)o(^ )

絵の具と水をつかって、とってもかわいくて楽しい実験をしたKindy (幼児クラス)のみんなでした♪

Elementary (小学生クラス)のみんながお待ちかねのexperiment (実験)では、赤・青・黄の3色を混ぜ、その混ぜたものをさらに混ぜ合わせていきました☆

まずは実験を始める前に、自分たちで考察(^^)/

それぞれ2色を混ぜたら、いったい何色になるのかな？！

それでは、実験スタート！

みんなが予想したような色になったかな～？？

そして、出来上がった3色をまたさらに１つに混ぜ合わせました☆

“I think it will be brown!” (茶色になるとおもう！)

“Black!” (黒！)

みんなで様々に予想しましたが、結果はどうなったのでしょう？♪

茶色みたいな色になりました！予想があたった子は、Will先生とハイタッチ☆

サタデーのみんなにとって、色に関する新しい発見があったらいいな(#^.^#)

Week 3(3週目)では、Size (大きさ)について学んだElementary (小学生クラス)のみんな！

今回は、自分たちの手形をきりとって、お互いの手の大きさを比べるアクティビティをしました☆

Kindy (幼児クラス)では、ハンバーガー屋さんごっこをしました(^^♪

みんな上手に注文できたね！

そして！3週目はみんなが大好きなクッキングをする週なのです！！

今回はフルーツポンチ☆

まずは、材料を自分のプレートの上でこまかく切って、

ボウルに移して、

フルーツポンチのできあがり～♪

とっても上手にできたね！

5月もとっても頑張った、Saturday School (土曜日幼児・小学生クラス)のみんなでした(#^.^#)

6月もみんなと過ごすのを楽しみにしているよ！☆

Hello, everyone, Kindy 1 Class here!

This month is almost over, and we had a lot of fun with shapes last week! While most of our shapes were already familiar, we got to learn about new shapes, and we did some new activities with them that we haven’t done before.

One activity we did was try to make a shape with a friend using one of our new toys! It was a little hard, but that’s why we were able to work together!

“Oh, you can put it here!”

We tried very hard to figure out how to make the same shape as our flashcard. It was easier to name them.

“I have to make a circle?”

“Yes please! Can you do it together?”

“Help please, Toni.”

“Okay, good try!”

Toni helped us know how long the sticks we needed had to be. It was easier for us to put the jacks on the ends. But we did it! We like this kind of toy!

We also did craft with shapes! Toni said we were going to make a dinosaur! Some of us even looked at the example and could name our dinosaur!

“It’s going to be a stegosaurus!”

“What color triangles do you want?”

“Dark green, please.”

We had all different colors we could choose from.

“Uh, oh! My square!”

We had so many shapes to glue! We can’t wait to finish out craft!

Another new activity with our shapes that we did was following a dot-to-dot picture by the numbers! Toni showed us a couple times for our lessons, and we all did our best to try during our challenge time!

“Can you see what shape it is?”

“It’s a star!”

“Yeah it is!”

We had a lot of fun doing this activity for lessons, so we were able to color together!

“I want orange, please.”

“Okay, here you go. What shape do you want to color?”

“Heart!”

We had so much fun with our new shapes! Do you know our favorite shape? Ask us!

“What’s your favorite shape?”

“My favorite shape is…”

Good job Kindy 1! Toni and Ari are very proud of you, especially when you need to remember our harder shapes, like hexagon and octagon! Let’s have another great week together and keep having fun learning new things!

こんにちは、Small Kids（1歳児クラス）です！

これから梅雨の時期になったり、暑くなっていく季節になりましたね！

Small Kidsでは、そんな時期にも室内で楽しく遊べるsensory play（感覚遊び）などを用いてプレイタイムを過ごしています⭐︎

sensoryは「感覚」という意味で、sensory playは子どもたちの五感に働きかける遊びにもなります♪

今回はみんながどのような室内遊びを行なっているのかご紹介します(^^)！

まずはball pool（ボールプール）！

先生と一緒にたくさんのボールに囲まれてみました⭐︎

外から先生を見つけたみたいです！

“You found me!”（見つかった！）

パラシュートでも遊んでみました(^^)

みんな大きな布に大興奮です⭐︎

続いてはwater play（お水遊び）⭐︎

先生が色のついたお水に何かを入れていきます(^^)

みんなも挑戦！

“Can you put it in the water?”（水の中に入れられるかな？）

みんなが入れていたのはアルファベットでした！

“Can you get A?”（Aを取れるかな？）

ゲーム感覚でも遊べますよ♪

みんなお水に興奮して濡れながらも楽しんでいました♡（笑）

お次は新聞破り！

いらなくなった新聞も子どもたちの遊びになっちゃいます♪

また、新聞を破ることで指先を鍛える運動にもなりますよ(^^)

上手に新聞を破れるかな〜？⭐︎

とっても真剣です！

“Rip, Rip!”（ビリビリ！）

新聞を丸めてみたりもしました♪

“Crumble, Crumble!”（クルクル！）

花吹雪のようにも散らせて遊びましたよ！

たくさん破れてうれしいね(^^)！

いっぱい遊んだあとはきちんとお片付け！

Hello everyone!

Our focus this month for math is reviewing what we already know about temperature. We are going over our flashcards so we are confident in our pronunciation, we have gotten really good at it!

We have started to try and associate food with different temperatures. We go over the flashcards first and then work as a class to sort the food into the correct temperature. 

“Chicken nuggets are warm.”

“I think sausage is hot.”

Sometimes we make mistakes, so we make sure to go over them together so we all understand!

We really like trying to find and draw different temperatures using a thermometer on the whiteboard. We get to practice both counting and number recognition. 

“25 is right here.”

We are also reviewing the seasons and what the temperature and weather is like during them. We got to separate into groups and talk about what each season is like. 

We even practice our writing for math activities.

“Winter is freezing!”

“Summer can be 30 degrees Celsius.” 

We love going over what everyone wrote as a group!

Learning about temperature and how we can apply our knowledge is so fun. We love doing the activities in groups so we can talk our answers over with our friends.

みなさんこんにちは♪ 先週金曜日はKindy (年少・年中・年長クラス)合同のバス遠足に行ってきました(^^)

あいにくの天気ではありましたが、屋内施設でめいっぱい楽しんだ子どもたちの様子をご紹介します♡

はりきって登園してきたみんな、バスに乗っていよいよ出発。年少さんにとっては初めての、保護者の付き添いなし&バスでの遠足となりました！

窓の外を眺めたりカラオケタイムを楽しんでいると、あっという間に目的地の鞍ヶ池公園に到着(o^^o)

大きな室内アスレチックに目を輝かせる子どもたちは夢中でプレイタイムスタート〜！

年中さん・年長さんは遊具の高さにもへっちゃらで、登ったり降りたり滑ったり… はじめての遊具にちょっぴり怖くなってしまった年少さんも、先生に助けてもらいながらアスレチックを制覇☆ またひとつ成長したね！

ひととおり遊び終わると聞こえてくるのは、“I’m hungry! I want to have lunch!” (おなかぺこぺこだよ〜！)の声。ピクニックマットをひろげて、ランチにしよう(^o^)

おべんとうばこを開いてニコニコのみんな、先生やお友だちに今日のメニューを見せてくれましたよ☆

おなかいっぱいパワーチャージをしたところで、午後はみ〜んなで外で遊ぼう！

今回遊んだのは“red light, green light” (だるまさんがころんだと同じルールのゲーム)、greenの時にだけ走り、redではぴたりと止まらなければいけません…

はしって止まって、はしって止まって…

Andrew先生つーかまえた！

園庭では出せないスピードで全力疾走して楽しむ子どもたちでした♡

楽しい時間はあっというま。そろそろスクールに帰る時間です！

雨の降る中、バスまでの道のりを、年長さんは年少さんの手をひいて歩いてくれました。とっても頼もしかったよ！

やっとバスに到着〜！休憩しながらスナックタイム♪ お友だちと一緒におやつとおしゃべりを楽しんだようです。

遠足は、非日常を楽しんだり、スクールの外でのマナーを学べるとっても良いチャンス。またひとつ、みんなで過ごした素敵な思い出が増えたね！今年度もこれからたくさんのイベントを用意しているよ(^^) たのしみにしていてね。

It didn’t matter the weather. We had fun there!

こんにちは、Preschoolです♪ いよいよ夏らしい天気になってきましたね！

こども達は、とっても元気で、日々さまざまなことにチャレンジしています！今日は、列を意識し１列になって歩く練習と、ジャンプの練習をした様子をお届けします！

マットの上に座り、Hannah先生の説明を聞くことができるようになり、とても成長を感じています♡

“Is this a good line?” (よい列の並び方かな？)

“No!” (ううん！)

“No! Because the cow is looking back!! Let’s look forward!!” (そうだね！牛さんが後ろを見ているね！みんな前を向こうね！)

“Okay!” (わかったよ！)

みんなで、どのように並ぶとよいか、どのように１列に歩くのかを学習した後は、いざ出発！！！

はじめての挑戦にすこし緊張ぎみな表情の子もいましたが、みんなで一生懸命取り組みました！

１回、２回と練習の回数を重ねるごとに、自信がついてきた様子！

廊下でのターンは、まだまだむずかしく、列が乱れてしまうこともありますが、少しずつ１列になって歩くことを意識できるようになってきました！

見てください！練習した後のプレイタイムでも、動物のおもちゃを並べて、あそんでいました♡

また、ある日には、からだを大きく動かすアクティビティを行いました！やる気いっぱいで少しうずうずしていましたが、この日もとっても上手にHannah先生のお話を聞けましたよ！

まずは、バランス感覚を鍛える平均台にチャレンジ！Hannnah先生に少し手伝ってもらい、みんなスイスイ歩くことができました！

“Slowly slowly!” (ゆっくりね！)

お次は、ブロックを飛び越えるため、大きくジャンプ！！！！！

できるかな〜？

両手を広げ、両足に力を入れて、思いっきりジャンプ！！！！

障害物を飛び越えるジャンプはまだむずかしく、ブロックをまたぐようにして越えていたこども達も多くいましたが、チャレンジした後の誇らしいえがおは、みんなおそろいでした( ＾∀＾)♡

これからも、集団行動やからだの動かし方をPreschoolでたのしく練習していこうね！！！

Hello again everyone! Kindy 3 reporting in with another theme lesson! This week’s blog will be about our bird lesson!

First, we did a quick review of what we already knew. We went over common birds parts such as “beak”, “feathers” and “wings”.

Then we got a little more in depth and learned about different types of birds. There are common birds such as pigeons or crows. However, we also introduced more exotic birds such as flamingos and eagles!

For a bird lesson, it felt very appropriate to have the lesson outside. The weather was also much cooler, so everyone was able to enjoy themselves without the scorching heat!

Also, being outside allowed us to look for any birds that might be nearby! Kindy 3 was able to spot some crows!

Once all that was done, it was time for a game!

Each team would listen to the teacher then race to touch the correct flashcard!

Everyone was super excited to try their best. It was a blast!

This game also helped show how good everyone’s memory was! Everyone knew exactly where to go without much hesitation!

Everyone had such a fun time that we almost forgot that we were having a lesson! Kindy 3 has great competitive spirit!

Overall, everyone did a fantastic job! There was so much to learn in this lesson, but everyone was able to remember it all! Keep soaring, Kindy 3!

こんにちは、Kindy 1 （年少クラス）です！

暑い日が続き、だんだんと夏が近づいてきましたね〜。

今回は Indoor Exercise の様子をご紹介します！

Indoor Exercise のレッスンは、子どもたちが大好きなレッスンの一つです！みんな体を思いっきり思いっきり動かすことがだ〜いすき♡

レッスンの始めは、きちんと整列し、「よろしくお願いします！」とあいさつをします。

あいさつが終わると、準備体操をします。

「手を出して、ぶらぶらぶら〜」、「足もぶらぶらぶら〜」、「顔もぶらぶらぶら〜」

田中先生がおもしろいのでみんな笑って楽しく準備体操をしています(^ ^)

準備体操が終わると、今度は体育館の中を走り回ります！

「みんな飛行機になって走るよ〜！」ビューン！！

「着地〜」と田中先生の合図でみんな床に着地！！

みんなしっかり着地できたね！！

かる〜く体を動かした後は、動物列車でシュシュッシュッ〜！！！

動物列車では、うさぎや犬、ペンギンやライオンになりきってマットの上を通過します！

マットの上にしっかりと手とひざをついて犬になりきりワンワンワン！

最後は跳び箱！

まずはこれから何をするのか、田中先生の説明をよ〜く聞いて、、

跳び箱の上に乗って、思いっきりジャンプ！！

最初の方はジャンプした後にしっかりと着地ができる子が少なかったですが、

田中先生が「みんな好きなものに変身して、かっこよく着地しよう！」と言うと、

「私はプリンセス」、「僕は仮面ライダー」と言いながらそれぞれ好きなものに変身してかっこよく着地できました！！

Good job Kindy 1! We love Mr.Tanaka and Indoor Exercise!

We can’t wait for next time!!

Today we are going to talk about a very important part of our day. DRINK TIME!!!

It is very important for us to stay hydrated throughout the day especially as the weather is getting warmer. During the day we must make sure we drink lots of liquids to keep our bodies and brains in tip-top shape. 

We have a drink at least two to three times a day. 

First, we make sure to all sit down nicely on the mat so Mika & Kerstin can hand out our drink bottles. Always remember to say “Thank you Mika/Kerstin.” 

Now it’s time to open up our drink bottles. We all practiced very hard to push our buttons by ourselves and get the cap open. “PUSH PUSH” 

And Next… weeeeee sayyyyyy “Cheers” !! We clink our bottles with everyone before we take a sip!! We love clinking our bottles with our friends and teachers. 

And now we drink! “BIG SIPS EVERYONE” 

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!! Refreshing and Yummy!!

We are now finished. So of course, it’s time to tidy up! We close our bottles and put it back in the drink bin. Our bottles are all together and in the same place for the next drink time. Perfect!

We put the drink bin away as a team. We all help to carry it and put it in the cupboard.

“HEAVE-HO HEAVE-HO HEAVE-HO!!” Team work makes the dream work! 

“YAY! We did it!”

ゴールデンウィーク明けの最初の金曜日は、Kindyクラス合同のおたんじょうび会でした♪さっそく、どんな様子だったか見てみましょう‪☆

体育館に集まったKindyのみんな。司会のToni先生が、今日の主役は誰か聞きます。

“Who has a birthday in May?” (5月におたんじょうびがある子はだーれだ？)

今回の主役は6人！先生にbirthday crown(王冠)をかぶせてもらいます。

おたんじょうび会恒例の質問タイム！

指名されたら、立って堂々と質問してくれたね‪☆

“What cake do you like?” (何味のケーキが好き？)

“I like chocolate cakes!” (チョコレートケーキが好き！)

“Me, too!” (私も！)

なんとチョコ好きが2人もいました‪☺︎‬

質問タイムのあとは、Will先生とAndrew先生による人形劇のはじまりはじまり〜♪

出てきたのは、人気の絵本”Don’t let the pigeon drive the bus”(ハトにうんてんさせないで！)のハト！どうやら誕生日プレゼントにpuppy(子犬)が欲しいみたい。

“Should I give him water once a month?” (子犬にお水をあげるのは1ヶ月に1回でいいかな？)

“No!”

“Hmm… it’s hard to get a puppy. I’ll get a walrus then.” (ふむ、子犬を育てるのはむずかしいんだな。じゃあセイウチにするか。)

こんにちは、Kindy 2（年中クラスです）！

今回はSocial Science（社会科学）のレッスンを紹介します！今月のテーマはnature（自然）!

自然につくられたものについて考えてみました！

自然につくられたものってなんだろう？

まずは先生に言われたものが、自然のものか、そうじゃないか答えていきます！

“Is a pond natural?”（池は自然のものかな？）

“Yes, because people don’t make it.”（自然のもの！だって誰も作っていないから！）

みんな理由まできちんと答えられちゃいます！

自分から質問を考えてくれる子も☆

“How about my jacket?”（私のジャケットはどうかな？）

“It’s not natural.”（自然のものじゃない！）

“Because people make it.”（だって誰かが作っているから！）

今度はアクティビティ！

動物たちはどこに住んでいるか考えてみよう！

“Do you think gorillas live in the forest?”

（ゴリラは森に住んでいるかな？）

“Yes!!”（住んでいるとおもう！）

今度はみんな自分たちで考えていきます！

動物と動物のすみかをマッチング！

“I don’t know.”（わかんないー！）

ちょっとむずかしかったかな？みんな迷いながら歩きまわります…！

それでも一生懸命考えました！さすがKindy 2☆

最後はみんなで答えあわせ！

bear（クマ）は森にいるね☆

これはちょっとむずかしい！

“You can see bugs anywhere!” （虫はいろんなところで見かけるよね！）

動物がどこにすんでいるか、上手に仕分けられたね☆これからも自然について、たくさん知ろうね！

5月はLaken先生の誕生日がありました！

なので、Japanese Lesson（日本語の授業）でメッセージカードを作って、プレゼントしました♡

Happy Birthday Laken♡

Hello everyone! It’s Preschool here!

Last week we finished our Mother’s Day Craft and we were so excited to give them to our mummies!

Nanami and Hannah showed us how to make a handprint flower card.

First, Nanami and Hannah cut out our plant pots and stuck them on our cards.

We practiced pressing down on our paper to see where our hands would go.

We then put each hand on an ink pad tray. We needed to press down hard to make sure our hands had enough ink on them!

Press, press, press…

Press, press, press…

Push, push, push…

“What colour will our handprints be?”

“Red and orange!”

When our hands were covered in ink we needed to press them down on our cards to make the flowers.

“Good job pressing everyone!”

Nanami and Hannah helped us press on the paper to make sure our handprints were nice and clear!

“So many fabulous flowers!!”

Taadaaaaaa!!!

“Look! I did it!”

“Well done! What lovely flowers!”

After the ink had dried, we used our thumbs to make the leaves on our flowers.

We pressed our thumbs into the green ink tray and then dabbed them near our flower handprints to make the leaves!

“Wow!!! Look at all those leaves!”

We absolutely loved making our cards for our mummies, and our mummies loved them too!

Great work everyone, you all did an amazing job!!!

I wonder what we’ll make next month…?

こんにちは、Kindy 3 (年長クラス) です！

本日は、Mother’s Day (母の日) のクラフト制作の様子をお届けします♪

今回の制作では折り紙を使ってカーネーションのお花を作りました。

折り紙にも一生懸命に取り組んでいましたが、みんなが1番熱心になっていたのは、おかあさんに向けてのメッセージです。

“What does your mom do for you?” (おかあさんはみんなの為に何をしてくれているかな？)

Andrew先生の質問にみんな手をあげて、教えてくれました。

“My mom plays with me!” (一緒に遊んでくれるよ！)

“She cooks for me!” (ご飯を作ってくれる！)

“My mom reads books to me!” (本を読んでくれるよ！)

おかあさんがみんなの為にしてくれることを、発表する時の子どもたちはとても嬉しそう♪

おかあさんのことを考えながら、日ごろのありがとうの気持ちを込めて書きました。メッセージを書いている時には、おかあさんとの思い出をたくさん教えてくれました♪

“I want to write more!” (もっとたくさん書きたいな)

“Is this spelled ok?” (スペリングはこれであってるかな？)

“I can’t wait to give this to my mom!” (はやくおかあさんに渡したいな♪)

メッセージを書き終えたら、みんなの作ったお花たちをのりを使って組み合わせていきます。少し苦戦しているようでしたが、おともだちと教えあったり、協力して上手に作ることができました♪

最後に色えんぴつで、好きな絵を書いて完成。みんなよく頑張りました。

おかあさんへの感謝たっぷり、愛たっぷりのプレゼントの出来上がりです♪

Hello everyone! Kindy 1 Class here again!

We are all ready to try our best as we begin to do Show and Tell with each other in the morning. We’ve been practicing how to make different questions, and how to answer in a big voice so everyone can hear us.

“Does anyone have any questions?”

“I do!”

Toni is singing our different question words every day for us, so we can try to make our own questions. We are trying to make different questions for every day.

“Can we think of a ‘where’ question to ask?”

“Where did you get it?”

“Oh, that’s a good question!”

And after a couple of different questions, we get to see up close the really cool things our friends brought for Show and Tell.

“Ooh!”

Also! With our field trip coming up, we’ve been practicing how to buddy up and walk in a line.

“Please find your partners, and let’s line up!”

We’re very good at this! We love our partners. ^.^

“Ready, Kindy 1? Let’s go!”

“Let’s go!”

“Stop!”

We’re so good at stopping in our tracks! Toni told us to freeze and take not a single step more if we hear someone call out for us to stop. Just in case!

We also practiced walking in pairs outside!

“Kindy 1, please show me your inside hands!”

Inside hands? We know that! That’s the hands we are holding our friends with! Toni checks that we’re all holding our partners like this!

“Kindy 1, please show me your outside hands!”

We keep our hands really high up!

We’re doing our best to use our big voices with each other, and we’re all so excited to be ready for our upcoming field trip!

Good job, Kindy 1! Toni and Ari are very proud of how well you are all trying, and how quickly you’re all improving! Keep up the good work and let’s have another fun and exciting week together!

今週日曜日は母の日♡ということで、Small Kidsではみんなの大好きなママに向けて工作を行いました(^^)

みんなが工作する様子をのぞいてみましょう♪

まずはKerstin先生のお手本を見ながら、説明を聞きます⭐︎

今回は、端を放射線状に切ったトイレットペーパーの芯を絵の具に付けて、お花のように見立てていきました♪

“I did it!”（できた！）

ママへの愛情を込めてとっても上手にできたね♡

Happy Mother’s Day♡

Hello everyone!

We love doing our lessons with Laken and Manami everyday, but we are always so excited for the afternoon. We get to have playtime after lunch and it is so fun! We get to go to lots of different places for our playtime. 

When we go to the upstairs play area we love to work together to build houses and chairs. 

“It goes like this.”

When we finish building our chairs we love to sit down for a game of cards.

“Do you have…..”

We even try our best to read during playtime with friends, sometimes there is a maze we can work on too!

We always love to show Laken and Manami what we draw on the etch-a-sketch.

“Look what I made!”

We get to play in the gym on Wednesday and we like to use the mats, play soccer and work on our balance. 

“Make sure you don’t use your hands!”

“Step, step, jump!”

As much as we love playing in the play area and gym, our favorite place to play is always outside! 

“Let’s go!”

We are learning lots of different types of stretches and they always make us giggle when we make funny poses.

We throw the balls so high it knocks our hats off!

We are looking forward to even more playtime!
