Hello from Kindy 1! Last month in Language Arts we had fun learning about the different parts of the face. This month in Language Arts we’ve been having a blast learning about the different parts of the body.
Kara showed us the body part flashcards and explained why each body part is important. We learned that our hands are important because they allow us to hold things. Our hands help us do many things such as eat, write and play instruments.
After Kara explained the body parts, she asked us to show her the body parts that were on the flashcards.
“Can you hold up your hands?” “Good job!”
We played a fun game where we got to move our different body parts.
We rolled the dice and then completed the actions.
“Can you shake your fingers?” “Yay, you did it!”
“Let me see you shake your elbows!” “Nicely done!”
We also did a cool activity where we used blocks to measure our bodies from head to toe. It was a great way to learn about our body parts, as well as review our counting. We had fun seeing the different lengths of everyone’s bodies!
Kara told us that for our next activity we would get to paint some of our body parts. We were excited! We went outside for this activity because it got a little messy.
“What body part is this?” It’s my foot!”
“Can you put your foot on the paper?” “Nice work, it looks great!”
“What hand do you want me to paint?” “This one!”
“Show me your fingers!” “So cute!”
Our body painting picture turned out great! We were excited to hang it in the classroom.
Great job learning your body parts, Kindy 1! Keep up the good work!
