Hello Kindy 3!
For the month of September our motor skills lessons have been about jumping. We have been practicing different jumps with different activities. Check out what have have been able to accomplish.
We started nice and simple with short jumps over different objects using one or both feet. After we felt confident, we had a competition to see who could jump the farthest! Everyone got really into it and the competition was high.
Even if we didn’t get the farthest jump it was still a ton of fun to see what we could do on our own. We have practiced balance in the past but it was so much harder to keep balance after an extremely large jump.
We spent some time learning to jump rope as well. This was quite difficult and we certainly getting better. The timing of the rope can be hard to get down with our jumping but with a bit more practice I’m sure we can do it!
We started by just swinging the rope overhead and stepping over it before moving on. Sometimes the rope doesn’t do what you want and it gets stuck behind you.
In the end we were able to put everything we learned this month to jump rope all on our own. Even if we only did it a couple times, it shows that when we try hard and practice we can do anything.
Great work Kindy 3!
